Manithan Vaanam

After arriving in the fortress city, the party wakes before sunrise and has a last-minute conversation with Marathan, as they review the battle plan they made the previous night. As they finish, Marathan asks everyone except Bhavannan to leave, and the two exchange words of familial love. Marathan asks Bhavannan if he should mention his presence in Konga Naadu in his letter to Bhavannan's mother, which Bhavannan agrees to. Marathan then charges Bhavannan with acting as commander on the wall when he is absent, placing Bhavannan in charge of the battle plan. Afterwards, Aadhi, Haavani, and Shwari pray to their respective Kadavuls, while Bhavannan practices with his new shield. They regroup and head to the fortress wall.

Eighty soldiers stand in a line atop the wall, awaiting orders from the party. Once the group takes their positions, Bhavannan starts the attack, commanding all wizards to unleash fireballs upon the first lines of catapults. Fireballs slung from the wall destroy almost all the catapults. For the second phase, ten warriors goes into the megham, and lobs explosives at the catapults in the middle. However, before they could witness their mission's accomplishment, they perish to the red fog as their movements slow down drastically. All catapults are destroyed in the middle, and the third phase begins.

Before the siege begins, Haavani uses a necklace, gifted by Palu, and casts the spell Wind Walk upon everyone. Using that spell, the third phase initiates when everyone transforms into clouds and travels through the megham. When everyone is above the back line of catapults, they start to descend. Right before the seventy soldiers and our group land, they hurl explosives across the entire battlefield, littering the ground with bombs. Right when their feet touch the ground, everyone shifts back into cloud form, yet the megham takes hold of them, slowing their hearts and blood. However, everyone shifts into clouds once more, and escapes the red fog. They travel back to the wall and shift back to their original states. The explosives set off, destroying all but two catapults. Haavani then shoots a fireball towards one of the catapults, dismantling it forever. However, the last catapult stands too far from the wall and starts to launch mirughams. The catapult fires five times, and all but one fail. Five mirughams shoot out of the catapult, and fly over the wall and the city itself. Bhavannan immediately dispatches the soldiers towards the assailants, and our party sprints as well, wishing to fully eradicate all traces of mirughams, and win the first stand in this new war.
