Manithan Vaanam

After sleeping the night away in the city of light, the party wakes up at the crack of dawn and prepares to leave for Konga Naadu. At the stables, the group reunites with Anjan, and Bhavannan receives a new shield. Thalaivi Veyyoni waves them off, and the party leaves Marthandam. The three day journey goes peacefully, with conversations happening between Anjan and Bhavannan, as well as Aadhi and Haavani. As they get closer to the city, the party notices the air becoming heavier and more humid, eventually finding themselves in front of the gates to Marthandam.

At the front of the gates, Thalai Suranath is seen atop a vetri-yaan. He welcomes the group to the city, and explains the turmoil the city is under as he walks them through the streets. He leaves them at the front door to Thalai Marathan's office. Right after he leaves, Bhavannan slams the door open and proclaims his arrival to his father. The two have a sweet reunion. Then Haavani jumps in to tell Marathan their tale, and Bhavannan explains the reasoning for Anjan's presence. Afterwards, Marathan takes the party onto the walls, where the megham meets the city.

Atop the walls, Anjan prepares to fly over the megham to see the chaos within it. Right before he does so, Aadhi telepathically connects with him, and the party urges him to return if he is in any danger. After he agrees, he flies straight into the sky, disappearing into the clouds. He conveys to Aadhi that thirty groups of mirughams are building catapults and that they are almost finished. After his last communication, he comes crashing down to the wall and falls comatose as his body regains oxygen. Guards take him away to the infirmary, and Thalai Marathan brings the party back to his war room, where hours of strategy and planning take place. After they finish, the group prepares for bed, awaiting their most dangerous battle to save the fortress city.
