Manithan Vaanam

After the party's dreams end, they look upon Marthandam in the distance, and the pirate captain gives them jobs, to prepare the ship for the ports. They dock and wave goodbye to the captain. Haavani and Bhavannan lead the other two through the city, past markets and the town square. The twins marvel at the growing vines on the buildings, and the glowing flowers that grow upon the plants. Eventually they leave the city limits and walk to the well-traveled paths leading to the Veyil Koyil. An hour passes, and they enter the grounds of the koyil. As they walk toward the entrance, Bhavannan sees his mother and sister finishing their circuit of the koyil but does not approach them. Once the group enters the koyil, Haavani looks for Thalaivi Veyyoni but does not find her. She waits to ask a fellow cleric where she might be but waits for his duties to finish. As they wait, Shwari goes to pray at a Dhara shrine, and the other two look around the koyil in wonder, the stained glass floors casting iridescent light everywhere. The cleric finally acknowledges Haavani, and goes to find Thalaivi Veyyoni. He returns with her, and Thalaivi Veyyoni greets everyone with respect and graciousness. She takes the party to Haavani's quarters, where the group teaches her about the existence of mirughams, Bodhi, and the truth of the megham.

After the party ends their tales, Thalaivi Veyyoni expresses great concern over all the matters, and she calls out to Annpolli, a knowledge-based cleric of Veyyon, and an old friend of Haavani's, to find scrolls about exorcism and the fabled stories of Bodhi. Haavani goes with her, and the two catch up rekindling their years-long friendship. As the two are in the library, Thalaivi Veyyoni takes Bhavannan to a confessional room, where Bhavannan expresses how his crumbling faith in the Kadavuls has been reforged and that he looks forward to finally completing his mission. After his statements, Thalaivi Veyyoni offers knighthood to Bhavannan in the name of Veyyon, which Bhavannan says he will think about. Afterwards, they return to the party, at the same time that Annpolli and Haavani return. As the group rejoins, Thalaivi Veyyoni waves Annpolli away and then lays down the requirements for the exorcism, explaining how Bhavannan may have to give up his life in the process. The other three protest the idea, yet Bhavannan accepts the possibility. Afterwards, Haavani and Thalaivi Veyyoni have a private conversation, where Thalaivi Veyyoni reaffirms Haavani's competence and fortitude, and also explains that the exorcism must not fail. The group fully separates after this: Aadhi and Shwari read about Bodhi, Haavani walks the halls of the koyil yet again, and Bhavannan stays in his room in silence. They fall asleep, awaiting their travels to Konga naadu, leaving the beautiful city of light.
