After their farewell to Lagaab, the party forges north; the road begins to slope uphill the further they go. After a week of travel, their mounts grow slow and weary, and the party resolves to stop for a time to permit their yaans to rest. As they do, they discuss Bodhi and Aadhi's predicament, and the uncertainty of Shwari's future trials. When they resume, they find a light dusting of snow collecting on the roadside. For many, this is their first encounter with snow; slush-slinging ensues, and they revel in the changes from the sands to the snow.
