Ori Koneri, born 1128 RM, is a human druid who dwells on the outskirts of Trivandrum as the manager of the his family's country estate of Manimangalam. Through his manthiram, he maintains a colorfully diverse garden as well as the sacred fruit trees that watch over the graves of his recent ancestors. His older cousin, Nattamai Thirumalai Koneri, rescued their estate from a drought circa 1180 and now represents the Koneri family as its head in the city proper.
