Session 35
Vanathi's Lightseekers
As we leave this new race of manithan behind, I wonder what their next steps shall look like. Actually, what intrigues me more is when the Vaanam gains awareness of this group. What shall happen when they emerge from the trees and forests, only time will tell.

Played On 28th of December, 2025

After reeling from the evils unmasked and destroying a small portion of said evils, the party members discuss their next step: freeing Karikala. Anjan asks for more clarification on what they were looking for, to which the group responds with little. To gain more information, Aadhi telepathically communicates with Karikala, asking for more details on what they were looking for. Karikala responds that all he knows is that when he awoke, he was missing locks of his hair. After this disclosure, Anjan remembers a small idol that has a necklace of hair around it, to which he then leads the group. An hour later, the group finds the statuette: a bronze head resembling Karikala, the necklace of hair hangs from the sculpted neck. It lies on its side. The party decides to destroy the object later, wanting to do it in front of Karikala. They return to the monkey village to rest for the night before heading to him.

At the village, the elder monkey takes the group to a small tattooist's hut. The tattooist, an elderly female monkey, tattoos each member various designs in different colors. As each member is being tattooed, Haavani casts Hold Person on them to keep them from jolting. Throughout the process, conversations are held, and the tattooist berates the twins on multiple occasions. After the tattooing is over, the party exits the hut, immediately stepping into monkeys preparing for a celebration. The party splits up, helping with the decorations and planning of the festival. After everything is set, the group is led to an unlit bonfire. The whole village surrounds them as the elder monkey thanks them for their benevolence, and the group sets the bonfire ablaze, officially commencing the celebration. The town rejoices with dancing and hoots, pyrotechnics flying through the air as well. The group parties, relaxing for the night, and, as the celebration ends, they depart for their huts to sleep.

They awaken the next morning for Anjan to lead them back to Karikala. The party shows him the idol based upon him, and he asks them to destroy it immediately, wanting to waste no more time in the Kaalu Kaatu. Haavani destroys the locks of hair, and an invisible dome-like barrier becomes visible around the forest before slowly dissipating. Karikala falls to his knees in relief before thanking the group. He then takes out an amulet and explains its teleportative uses. The party says goodbye to Anjan and his korangu family, preparing for their next steps in the Neithal Kingdom.
