After a wonderful day of kondattam, the party joins the villagers of Lagaab for their outdoor feast. The party sits among the villagers, Shwari next to Ilanka, Nila next to Vash, Aadhi between Shwari and Nila, and Bhavannan next to the five-year old Konda. The feast is served thereafter, their banana-leaf plates filled with fish biriyani paired with pachadi, idlis paired with a coconut-based fish curry, and then hollowed coconuts that hold neera. While eating, the group converses all over. Ilanka and Shwari discuss the party's missions, Ilanka's early start to leadership, and the group's lack of an adventuring name. Aadhi and Ilanka speak as well, discussing the image of manthiram. Nila and Vash engage in conversation somewhat flirtily, chatting about his love for cooking and Nila's hometown and apothecary. Aadhi and Vash talk on his dancing skills, which he thanks his mother for.
As Aadhi, Shwari, and Nila's conversations go smoothly, Bhavannan and Konda's does not. Konda, who is also Ilanka's daughter, and Bhavannan start arguing about whether he was sad, which leads to a conversation about the "giant crocodiles" that reside in the Kaveri river. Bhavannan mentions that he could fight a crocodile, and Konda excitedly stands to show Bhavannan. As the two leave, Ilanka asks where they were going, which leads to Ilanka scolding Bhavannan for believing in such foolish notions as killing a crocodile. Bhavannan and Konda sit back down, and finish the rest of their food is silence. After her outburst, Ilanka mentions to Shwari and Aadhi that the crocodiles had become massive after the night of the comet[1], and that it had killed multiple fishermen, including Vash's brother. Then she excuses herself to prepare for the fireworks show, but asks that the whole party meet her at the town center for a meeting regarding the mirughams. Then, she grabs Konda, and the two leave the feasting area.
Haavani, after praying to Veyyon in solitude, arrives, and sits down with Aadhi and Shwari. Afterwards, everyone starts leaving for the town center, and the group excluding Nila do so as well. Nila, however, follows Vash to a lone fishing boat, where Vash explains that he and his brother were supposed to watch the fireworks together before his passing. Nila and Vash then row out and wait for the fireworks show. Everyone at the town square watch in anticipation as Ilanka and Palu release the first fireworks into the air followed by the crowd releasing their own, the skies filling with fireworks and colors. As the day ends, Nila and Vash go back to the hut and say their awkward goodbyes, which prompts teasing from Aadhi and Shwari. With the group patiently waiting for their secret meeting, their night of feasts and fireworks ends.
