After a night of manthiram and mischief, the party goes to sleep on a quiet and peaceful night. Aadhi, Bhavannan, and Nila sleep in their respective rooms and beds, while Shwari spends the night in Bindhu's room. However, all four them have dreams of varying degree. Shwari wakes up first, nestled in the arms of Bindhu, but is interrupted soon after by the telepathic thoughts of Aadhi. After sneaking out of Bindhu's room, Shwari loiters in the tavern for half an hour and then goes upstairs to Aadhi's room.
Aadhi and Shwari discuss the dreams they had: Aadhi's conversation with the "blue lady" within her, who she has finally named as Bodhi, and Shwari revealing that a hermit, that saved the twins, had placed Bodhi within Aadhi and transferred Shwari's manthiram to Aadhi as well. Somehow, they both had dreams that revealed to them that Bodhi's spine contained her soul, and was carried with the hermit till the transfer. After these revelations, they hear a yelp from the room next door and decide to go investigate.
In the room next door, Bhavannan wakes up gasping and catching his breath, taking a few moments to still himself. After he gets up and prepares to leave, a pangolin jumps off of Nila's bed and runs in front of Bhavannan, blocking him from leaving. Bhavannan picks the pangolin up and theorizes that Nila brought the creature in for her "herbalism". The pangolin bites Bhavannan's hand, and, in frustration, he releases the pangolin upon Nila's bed. He tries to leave once more, but is thwarted again by the pangolin. After a second time of placing the creature upon the bed, he watches in astonishment as the pangolin shapeshifts into Nila. After a few minutes of arguing about Bhavannan's thick-headedness and Nila's injuries upon Bhavannan, the two somewhat reconcile as Nila recounts her dream: her paati stealing the Dharma Villu from the Well of Dharma as a pangolin. Nila then asks Bhavannan what his dream was, and he refuses to speak on this. Then they hear a knock on the door and let Aadhi and Shwari into the bedroom.
Aadhi and Shwari tell the other two of their dreams, and, while doing so, Aadhi attempts to telepathically communicate with Prabhathan. In a shocking twist, Prabhathan answers back to Aadhi in her head, even with just a babble. Aadhi, in confusion, reaches out telepathically to the others in the room, to test and see if they can reply back to her mentally; they could not. With more knowledge and yet more confusion, the group plans for their meeting with Alagan and resolve their night of dreams and one pangolin.
